Picture Plane

This is a drawing of a grocery bag, done in pencil.
I feel like pencil is not my strong medium to work with,
but I am still working at it.

This is a drawinf of a grocery bag done in conte crayon.
I thought this would be a little more difficult to do,
because you are not able to erase anything,
however I was pleasently surprised that I did not struggle with it.

This is my drawing of a birds-eye-view.
This picture was really hard for me, and
I am still not pleased with it, but because
of time constraints, here it is. I think I will try doing a
birds-eye-view icture again of something else as
a subject to see if I can get the concept down better.

Texture Image

Still Life of shapes, also a design to follow in creating the next image.

Here is my still life done in the texture paper
created perviously. This was a little difficult
for me to create. I really like doing collage
work, but this one kind of through me for
a loop. I found myself wanting to add pencil
to define the shapes and shadows better.

Texture

This image was created with a soft cloth dipped
into ink then pressed to the paper.

This image is a rub done with pencil over a wicker basket.

This image is done with ink and a silk flower
painted with ink then pressed onto the page.

This image is a rub done with charcoal over a steamer trunk.

This image is of feathers, painted with ink then
pressed to the page.

This image is a rub done with conte crayon
over a metal basket.

Color

"Red Dancer"

Cut Out in a momochromatic color scheme of red.
My inspiration for this piece came from the piece
pictured below by Henri Mattise, The Creole Dancer.
I originally intended for the Ballerina to be still in a
stationary pose, however as the piece evolved, I changed the
position of the torso, to a leaning position, thus adding movement.
