Final Project!

"All The Pieces In My Life"

For the self portrait above, the background was to
be done about something that represents my personality.
So I am in the center, with the people, and things that I
enjoy surrounding me. Done in Conte Crayon, and Charcoal.

My Very First self portrait! I think this has a little more
defining lines, because I drew it from a picture and could see
all of the lines in the picture, the Final picture was drawn from a
mirror image. So while I think I have improved,
I still could use some practice.

Self Portrait from a Mirror Image

Part 1 Final

Contour Line Drawing of myself! Using pencil, and looking
in a mirror. It is amazing how many more things can be seen in a
mirror than a posed picture. I am looking a little tired
and sad, but that is how I was feeling when drawing myself,
so I think I captured it pretty well. It was difficult drawing
without using shading.

This was my very first self portrait ever, as well as the first
one required for the class. I used pencil as well, but was
able to do come shading. my hair was longer,
and it was drawn from a picture. I do like them both,
however I think the second one or contour drawing is more realistic,
in part because it was drawn from a live model, not a picture.

Picture Plane

This is a drawing of a grocery bag, done in pencil.
I feel like pencil is not my strong medium to work with,
but I am still working at it.

This is a drawinf of a grocery bag done in conte crayon.
I thought this would be a little more difficult to do,
because you are not able to erase anything,
however I was pleasently surprised that I did not struggle with it.

Plain & Perspective

This is my drawing of One Point Perspective

This is my Drawing of a two point perspective

This is my drawing of a three point perspective picture

This is my drawing of an Ants-eye-view

This is my drawing of a birds-eye-view.
This picture was really hard for me, and
I am still not pleased with it, but because
of time constraints, here it is. I think I will try doing a
birds-eye-view icture again of something else as
a subject to see if I can get the concept down better.

Texture Image

Still Life of shapes, also a design to follow in creating the next image.

Here is my still life done in the texture paper
created perviously. This was a little difficult
for me to create. I really like doing collage
work, but this one kind of through me for
a loop. I found myself wanting to add pencil
to define the shapes and shadows better.

Texture

This image was created with a soft cloth dipped
into ink then pressed to the paper.

This image is a rub done with pencil over a wicker basket.

This image is done with ink and a silk flower
painted with ink then pressed onto the page.

This image is a rub done with charcoal over a steamer trunk.

This image is of feathers, painted with ink then
pressed to the page.

This image is a rub done with conte crayon
over a metal basket.

Color

"Red Dancer"

Cut Out in a momochromatic color scheme of red.
My inspiration for this piece came from the piece
pictured below by Henri Mattise, The Creole Dancer.
I originally intended for the Ballerina to be still in a
stationary pose, however as the piece evolved, I changed the
position of the torso, to a leaning position, thus adding movement.
